After a two-month hiatus from New York, Vernakular is back at ID Pop Shop at Chelsea Market. From August 8 to 21 (yes, two weeks!), Vernakular will be at ID Pop Shop selling its photo-based products, including its signature, Manholes of the World doormats, trivets, and coasters. Also available is our line of leather accessories.
Vernakular takes its act on the road at ID Pop Shop Boston next week, July 29-31. After five weeks in Southeast Asia, we are back with new photographs on our signature products. We will have our Manholes of the World doormats and leather wallets and accessories. In addition, we will have greeting cards, mugs, coasters, trivets, and more!
ID Pop Shop Boston has assembled a great group of designers from the New York to Boston to bring you the first Boston/New York pop up on Newbury Street, Boston's premier retail shopping area.

13 years ago Vernakular was born. I sold my first photo-based t-shirt, designed and made in my East Village apartment, at a designer market on Mulberry Street. Even though I didn't sell that many t-shirts that day, I truly believed in the idea and I never looked back. I was simply enjoying the process of thinking about new ideas and creating new products.
We started with t-shirts, then later came stationery products, metal prints, and leather accessories, such as wallets, cardholders, passport holders, and luggage tags.
Now, we have doormats with photos of manhole covers from around the world. And even though we have created a diversified line of products over the years, our main focus remains showcasing the work of independent photographers.
Fast forward 13 years and Vernakular is still going strong. We participated in a multitude of events around the U.S. and sold in stores across the United States, Canada, and Japan. In the last few years, Vernakular has been focused on online sales and direct-to-customer retail events, including ID Pop Shop at Chelsea Market and Real NYC Market, which also happens to be on Mulberry Street, where we first started 13 years ago. Happy Birthday Vernakular!
Thanks to all the people who have supported independent design.
